Lock systems

Link smart locks and access-control systems such as Salto KS, Kisi, Brivo, Nuki, igloohome and Yale. Nola keeps members' PINs on them and logs unlocks.

How-toModule: Memberships & passesChecked against the app on 1 October 2026

If your doors already have smart locks or an access-control system, link them to Nola through Seam. Nola puts each member's PIN on the locks they may use, takes it off when the membership pauses, goes on hold or ends, and shows keypad unlocks as check-ins.

  1. Click Link lock account.
  2. Sign in to your lock system on the page that opens and pick the locks to share.
  3. Back in Nola, the account shows Linked and lists its locks and entrances.
  4. Add a door in a zone, pick Lock system (Seam) as the hardware and choose the lock.

Each lock shows which door uses it, and Offline when the lock system reports it offline. Your admins also get a "lock offline" alert.

Give members PINs

Members use the PIN you add on their sheet under Door access → Add PIN (see Members).

  • Keypad locks (Nuki, igloohome, Yale and similar) get an access code with the member's PIN.
  • Access-control systems (Salto KS, Kisi, Brivo and others) get a user with the PIN, allowed only at the entrances of zones their plan includes.

Nola updates the locks about 10 seconds after a change, and checks everything again every 15 minutes. The page shows how many PINs are on the locks, how many are paused, and any that couldn't be set.

What a lock can't check

The lock decides at the door, so some rules can't apply there:

  • The plan's days and times, staffed hours and unstaffed rules.
  • Capacity and pass sharing.

A member whose plan opens the zone at all keeps their PIN on the lock around the clock. Visits and pack credits are counted when the unlock is reported. If your plans limit hours, or the area has a capacity, use a Nola Door Agent or a relay for that door instead.

Unlink removes Nola's PINs from the account's locks and turns off the doors that use them.
