Utilization
See how full your resources are by weekday and hour, compare periods, track no-shows and retention, and save your peak hours.
The Utilization page shows how much of your open time is actually booked, for each resource and each hour of the week. Use it to find quiet hours to fill, busy hours to price or staff differently, and resources that are rarely used.
Open the page and pick a period
- Open Reports → Utilization in the sidebar.
- Set From and To, or click Last 7 days, Last 30 days or Last 90 days. The page opens on the last 30 days.
Everything on the page follows the period you pick.
Key figures
| Figure | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Bookings | Bookings that start in the period, not counting cancelled ones. |
| Utilization | Booked minutes as a share of open minutes across your resources. |
| No-show rate | Share of bookings marked as no-show. |
| Late-cancel rate | Share of bookings cancelled late, where a late-cancellation fee applied. |
| Revenue | The price of bookings in the period, not counting cancelled ones. |
| Active players | Distinct people who played, including other players and guests named on bookings. |
| New customers and Returning customers | First-time and repeat customers in the period. |
Compare two periods
- Click Compare to previous period. Nola fills in the same length of time just before your period.
- Adjust Compare from and Compare to if you want a different period, for example the same month last year.
- The key figures now show side by side as Current period and Comparison period.
- Click Stop comparing to go back.
Occupancy heatmap
The Occupancy heatmap shows one resource at a time. Pick the resource from the menu next to the title; each option shows its overall utilization. The grid has a column per weekday and a row per hour. Darker cells are more booked, grey cells are closed. Hover over a cell to see the exact booked and open minutes.
Revenue and retention
- Revenue by resource, Revenue by service and Revenue by hour show where the money in the period comes from.
- Retention cohorts group customers by the month of their first booking and show which share of them booked again one, two and three months later (+1 mo, +2 mo, +3 mo).
Save your peak hours
Peak vs off-peak suggests peak hours for each weekday, based on the booked and open minutes in the period. An hour counts as peak when it is at least 60% as busy as the busiest hour of that day. Days with no bookings show no peak.
- Choose a period that reflects a normal season, such as the last 90 days.
- Check the suggested hours.
- Click Save as peak profile.
The saved profile is used by rules that treat peak and off-peak hours differently, such as court extensions. The page shows when you last saved it. Until you save, nothing uses the suggestion.
Export
Click Export CSV to download the heatmap data for the period: one row per resource, weekday and hour with booked minutes, open minutes and the utilization percentage.
