What modules are and how to turn them on

Nola's core works without any module: publish a booking page, take bookings and inquiries, and run your calendar. Modules add optional features on top, so your sidebar only shows what your business actually uses.

#Turn a module on or off

1. Open Settings → Modules in the sidebar.
2. Find the module in the list. Each row shows its name, a one-line description and whether every plan or every paid plan includes it.
3. Click the button on the right. It reads On or Off and switches straight away.

When a module is on, its screens appear in the sidebar. When it is off, those tabs are hidden, and screens you open directly show a "module is off" message with a link back to Modules.

If you picked an industry template during setup, the page also lists the modules Recommended for your industry.

#What each module unlocks

Modules have no price of their own: Free includes five of them, and every paid plan includes all of them. Online payments has no Nola fee.

#Modules and your plan

Which modules you can switch on depends on your plan. CRM clients, Multi-resource, Waitlist, Team access and Online payments are available on every plan, including Free, and so is Players and rankings. Every other module needs a paid plan, and all of them are included in the 30-day trial every new business starts with. On Free, a module that needs a paid plan shows Needs a paid plan and a Choose a plan button instead of On or Off, and its screens link to Settings → Plan. If you had switched it on before, for example during the trial, a Switch off button sits next to Choose a plan. Your switch decides whether the module comes back on when you choose a paid plan. In the sidebar, pages your plan doesn't include show a lock. Online payments has no monthly fee and Nola takes no fee on payments. You pay only your payment provider's own fee. #Players and rankings

Players and rankings is the last row on Settings → Modules. It shows for sports clubs and for businesses on the fitness template; other business types don't have these screens. It covers player profiles, rankings with match results, leagues and open games in the community. It is Included on every plan, so its button always reads On or Off.

It starts on for sports clubs and for businesses without an industry. It starts off for gyms, fitness studios and the other businesses on the fitness template, such as music lessons and events. While it is off:

• the Players tab under Clients and the Leagues tab under Community are hidden;
• those pages, opened by their address, show Players and rankings are off with a link to Modules;
• your community shows no open games, and its settings have no sport network options. See Community.

Turn it on if your gym runs matches or leagues. Switching it off hides these screens and takes your community out of the sport network; player profiles, ratings and results stay and come back when you turn it on again.
