Industry templates

An industry template gives you a starting point that fits your type of business, so you do not begin with an empty account. You pick it once, during setup, and then edit everything to match how you actually work.

#Pick a template

1. Go to Settings → Setup.
2. Under Recommended, click Set up next to Industry template. The step is optional.
3. Under Pick a starter template, click the closest match. Templates are grouped by type of business.
4. Nola applies it and ticks the step off. The top of the setup page then names your industry and template, for example Configured for Gym. Fitness starter applied: services, resources and opening hours are set up.

Prefer to start from scratch? Click the skip button under the list instead. The step is marked done and nothing is added.

#Available templates

#What a template adds

For most templates Nola adds, in the language you use the app in:

• Sample services with a duration and price, for example a haircut for a salon, a yoga class for a studio, or green fees and a lesson with the pro for a golf club. They take bookings only; to take quote requests for one, click Allow quote requests under it in Services.
• Sample resources, such as a stylist chair and treatment room, a studio, courts, or a golf course with rental carts and club sets.
• Weekly opening hours, so your booking page has times to show.
• For disc golf, a Day pass pack under Products → Plans. It starts as a draft: open its menu and click Put on sale to sell it. See Create membership plans and packs.
• Modules that suit the industry. Every template turns on client records, multiple resources, the waitlist and team access. Some add more: a golf club also gets online payments, dynamic pricing and memberships & passes.

Fitness templates such as Fitness studio, Gym and Personal training also add a coach named "Trainer". Lessons with this trainer book the trainer alone, with no court, so personal training works without courts. See Coaches and lessons.

A few templates, such as Pet grooming, Home cleaning, Tutoring, Photography and Coaching & consulting, set your industry and modules only. They do not add sample services, so you add your own under Services.

#Extra screens for sports and fitness

Sports, fitness, golf and disc golf templates show extra tabs in the sidebar that other businesses do not need:

• Clients → Players and Clients → Groups
• Services → Coaches
• Bookings → Extensions
• Community → Leagues

Clients → Players and Community → Leagues also need Players and rankings under Settings → Modules. It is on for the Sports, courts & courses templates. It is off for the Fitness & movement templates, such as Gym, Fitness studio and Yoga & pilates, and for Music lessons and Events & experiences. Turn it on if your gym runs matches or leagues. #Make it yours

Template items are ordinary services and resources. Rename them, change prices and durations, or delete them:

• Services: Services in the sidebar. See Services.
• Resources and hours: Services → Resources and Services → Hours. See Resources and hours.

#Signed up from an industry page

If you arrived through an industry page on the Nola website, the setup page may ask whether to apply that industry's defaults. Click Apply vertical defaults to use it, or ignore the card and pick another template.
