Your Nola plan and billing
Choose, change, cancel or resume your Nola plan, see your business's size against the plan, manage billing details and the payment method, and download Nola's invoices.
Your Nola plan lives on one screen: Settings → Plan. It shows the plan you are on, how big your business is compared with the plan, the plans you can choose, your billing details and the invoices Nola has sent you.
The plans
| Plan | Bookable resources | Active memberships | Locations | What else |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 1 | none | 1 | Core booking, CRM clients, Multi-resource, Waitlist, Team access and payments |
| Plus | 3 | 100 | 1 | Every module, remove Nola branding, email support |
| Pro | 12, then extra resources one by one | 500 | 1 | Everything in Plus, chat and phone support, migration by Nola |
| Business | 40 | 2,500 | 5 | Everything in Pro, API and webhooks, hardware link included, a named contact |
| Enterprise | By contract | By contract | By contract | A contract with an SLA and custom integrations |
A bookable resource is an active resource with its own calendar, such as a court, room or staff member. Rentals and equipment don't count. Day passes don't count as memberships. Plus and Pro can add the hardware link for door access for each location.
The prices are on Settings → Plan. They exclude VAT, which is added at checkout where it applies. Yearly billing costs 10 months and gives you 12. During the pilot, Nola shares its price list on request: ask for it on the contact page.
Nola takes no fee on the payments your customers make to you. You pay only your payment provider's own fee, under your own agreement with them.
Your free trial
Every new business starts with a 30-day trial of Pro. It begins when the business is created, needs no card and runs once per business.
- During the trial every module is available, and so is the hardware link for door access.
- Nola emails the owner 7 days and 1 day before the trial ends, and the app shows a banner in the last week.
- Choosing a plan during the trial starts it at once and ends the trial.
- When the trial ends without a plan, the business moves to Free. Nothing is deleted.
Read the Plan page
- Current plan shows your plan, monthly or yearly, its price and when it renews. During the trial it shows the days left. If Nola set your plan up for you, for example in a pilot deal or a demo, it says so and has no Choose a plan button: contact Nola support to change it.
- Size counts your bookable resources, active memberships and locations against the plan, and names The plan that fits your business.
- Plans lists Plus, Pro and Business with a Monthly / Yearly switch. The plan that fits is marked Fits your business. For Enterprise, use Contact us. The plan you are on is marked Current plan. Where Nola hasn't published its prices yet, each plan reads On request and a line under the plans says so.
- Billing details shows the legal name, VAT number, registry code, billing email and country Nola invoices. They are filled in at checkout.
- Payment method opens Stripe, where you change your card.
- Invoices lists Nola's invoices to you. PDF downloads one.
Choose a plan
- Open Settings → Plan.
- Pick Monthly or Yearly, then click Start on the plan you want.
- Stripe Checkout opens. Enter your company name and address, your VAT number if you have one, and pay.
- Back on the Plan page, Activating your plan… shows for a few seconds until the plan is active.
If you chose a plan on Nola's pricing page before you signed up, the Plan page marks it Your choice after setup, so you can start it straight away. You're on the 30-day Pro trial until you do.
Change your plan
- Open Settings → Plan and click Switch to on the plan you want.
- Check the summary and click Confirm change.
A bigger plan, or moving from monthly to yearly, applies at once: you pay the difference for the rest of the current period today. A smaller plan, or moving from yearly to monthly (even to a bigger plan), applies at the end of the current period. Until then Current plan says when it changes, and Keep current plan undoes it. A smaller plan is only offered when your business fits it.
Cancel or resume
- Click Cancel plan, tell us why, and click Cancel plan again.
- A monthly plan stays active until the end of the period. Keep my plan undoes the cancellation until then.
- A yearly plan ends at once, and the unused months are refunded to your payment method. If the refund can't be made automatically, a message says so and our team refunds it for you.
After the plan ends, the business is on Free. Your data and the booking page stay.
In some countries Stripe sells the plan to you directly. Current plan then says the plan is billed through Stripe and shows no buttons to change, pause or cancel it, and Add-ons has no switch for the hardware link. Contact Nola support for those changes.
When your business grows
Nola checks your business's size on each billing date. Paid plans never stop you from adding resources, locations or memberships.
- The first time your business is bigger than its plan, you get an email that names the next billing date, and Size on the Plan page says what changes if it is still that size then. On a yearly plan the next billing date is a year away.
- If it is still bigger on the next billing date, your plan moves to the plan that fits from that date, or Pro gets extra resources. You get an email with the new plan and its price before VAT. Monthly plans change without a part-month charge; yearly plans pay the difference for the rest of the year.
- Nola never moves you to a smaller plan. Size names the plan that fits, and you decide whether to switch.
- While your plan is set to end, or a change you chose waits for the end of the period, Nola doesn't change the plan, and Size doesn't say it will.
Pause for the season
A business on a monthly plan can pause it for 1 to 4 months, once a calendar year (1 January to 31 December in your business's time zone). Click Pause under Current plan, pick the number of months and click Pause plan. While paused you pay nothing, Free limits apply and your data stays. The plan comes back on the resume date, or earlier with Resume now.
Offers and referrals
- Founding offer: the first 30 paying businesses get 50% off their plan for as long as it stays active. If Nola gave you a founding code, enter it under Offer code before you choose a plan.
- Switch offer: if you're leaving a paid booking tool, Nola can match its price for your first 12 months, never below half of the list price. Ask Nola with the last invoice from your old tool. The switch offer is billed monthly, so you can move to yearly billing once its 12 months are over. If you move to a smaller plan while it runs, the offer is worked out again for that plan for the months left: the smaller plan's list price minus what your old tool charged, never more than half off. If your old tool charged as much as the smaller plan or more, the offer ends when the change takes effect. Moving back up gives back the amount off you were granted for the months left, never more than the bigger plan's own match.
- Refer a business: share the link in Refer a business. When the business you referred starts paying, you both get one month free.
The founding and switch offers don't combine. Current plan shows the offer you have and when it ends, and Nola emails you 30 days before a time-limited offer ends. Invoices show the list price and the discount on separate lines.
When a payment fails
If a payment to Nola fails, a banner asks you to update the payment method. Your plan keeps working while Stripe tries again for 14 days. If your bank asks you to confirm a payment, the banner says so. If every retry fails, the business moves to Free.
On an Enterprise contract, Nola sends invoices that you pay by bank transfer within 14 days, to the account shown on the invoice. If an invoice is past its due date, a banner reminds you and Nola gets in touch. Your plan stays active; it is never cancelled because of a late invoice.
Price changes
The price you sign up at holds for 24 months. After that, Nola changes it at most once a year. You get an email at least 90 days before a new price applies, with the old price, the new price and the date it starts. A founding or switch offer you have stays on the new price. Until that date you can switch add-ons on or off as usual, and your changes stay. If you change plan before then, the new plan is charged at its current price.
What the Free plan includes
When the trial ends without a paid plan, the business is on Free:
- One bookable resource and one location. Adding a second one is refused with Your plan includes 1 bookable resource.
- CRM clients, Multi-resource, Waitlist, Team access and payments. Every other module, and the screens every paid plan includes (memberships, gift cards, discount codes, retail, invoices, wallets, classes and standing bookings), show a lock in the sidebar.
- "Powered by Nola" on the booking page and embed. Paid plans can hide it.
- No API keys, webhooks or door hardware. API keys and webhooks need the Business or Enterprise plan. Door hardware needs the hardware link, which Business and Enterprise include and Plus and Pro can add. The trial includes it: if it ends without one, doors you already paired keep opening for 7 more days, then stop. The owner gets an email with the day they stop, and the check-in log shows Door access isn't in your plan for scans after that.
- No guest passes or wallet top-ups for members. Members whose membership includes guest passes can't invite guests, and see Guest passes aren't available at this business right now. Their memberships keep running and the door keeps opening for them.
Paid plans and the trial never stop you from adding resources, locations or memberships.
When the business is bigger than Free
If the business moves to Free (the trial ends, the plan is cancelled or payments fail) with more bookable resources or locations than Free includes, a banner and the Your business is over its plan card appear on the Plan page.
- Click Choose what stays active.
- Tick the resources and locations to keep, up to Free's limits, and click Save choice.
Seven days later, everything you didn't choose becomes inactive; without a choice, the newest ones do. Nothing is deleted, and members' memberships keep running. When you choose a plan, the inactive items come back.
Add-ons and usage
Add-ons on the Plan page adds paid extras to a paid plan or the trial:
- SMS: messages by SMS, billed monthly per message at each country's price. Turning it on asks for a monthly spending cap. Without it, SMS go by email. During the trial, turning it on opens a Stripe page for your card, because the trial has none; SMS are billed from the first message, and stay on when you choose a plan. If the trial ends without a plan, SMS stop and the messages sent so far are billed.
- Hardware link: door agents, billed per location with a paired door agent. Business and Enterprise include it, and so does the trial. The number of locations follows the door agents you pair.
- AI receptionist: coming soon.
On Free or in the trial, before Nola starts charging for plans, SMS and the hardware link work without an add-on and cost nothing. Add-ons then says so and marks them Free for now. If your plan includes SMS, for example a plan Nola set up for you, SMS is billed per message as usual and shows On.
Switching an add-on off takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for. A plan change doesn't bring a switched-off add-on along: an upgrade removes it at once, with credit for the unused time.
Add-ons can't be changed while your plan is set to end; click Keep my plan first. While a smaller plan is scheduled, the hardware link stays as it is until the change takes effect, or until you click Keep current plan.
Usage this month shows the SMS sent this month by country, the cost so far and your cap. Change cap raises or lowers it. The month runs from midnight on the 1st in your business's time zone. At the cap, SMS stop until next month and messages go by email.
